Carey Phillips 86, of Eatonton passed away on May 28, 2012. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 30th at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel from 5 to 7 PM. Service on Thursday, May 31st at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel at 11 AM. Burial will be at Eastview Cemetery, Atlanta at 3 PM on May 31st. Mr. Phillips was a longtime member of the “Kirkwood Boys” which consisted of young boys which grew up together, he was a former member of the Stone Mountain Masonic Lodge then transferred to Rising Star #4 here in Eatonton, also a member of Yaraab Shrine Temple of Atlanta, and Al Shrine of Macon, and the DeKalb Fire Department for 34 years. Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 64 1/2 years Patricia Ann Phillips, 3 sons: Cliff Phillips of Good Hope, Steve Phillips & wife Vickie of Loganville, and Pat Phillips & wife Marlyn of Monroe, 4 grandchildren: Jennie Lynn Phillips, Carey Wilton Phillips, Meghan Lee Ann Phelts & husband Brian, Jason Russell Phillips, and 6 great grandchildren: Dustin Bryan Phillips, Maykalia Lynn Phillips, Cody Lane Phillips, Caleb James Phelts, Tyler Lee Phelts, and Samantha Alexis Phillips. Vining Ivy Hill Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. (viningivyhill.com)
