Obituary for Bonnie Blizzard

Bonnie Gertrude Blizzard, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully into eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her. Bonnie was the cherished daughter of Ennis Key Sr. and Fannie Belle, and she carried the values of family, strength, and compassion throughout her life.

Bonnie was a woman whose life was woven together with creativity, devotion, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. She had a special gift for creating beauty with her hands. A talented seamstress, Bonnie spent many hours sewing and quilting, carefully stitching pieces of fabric together into quilts that warmed not only homes but hearts. Each quilt carried with it her patience, care, and love for her family.

She also found great peace in nature and especially enjoyed fishing. Those quiet moments by the water brought her happiness and reflection, and she cherished the calm and simplicity that those times offered.

More than anything, Bonnie loved her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose gentle spirit and kindness touched many lives. Her family will forever remember her warmth, her strength, and the way she made everyone feel loved and welcomed.

Bonnie is survived by her loving children:her son, Larry James Mashburn, her oldest daughter, Tina Annette Hobbs (Harry),

and her youngest daughter, Laurie “Missy” Barfield.

She is also survived by her sisters, Lucy Jump and Johnnie Mae Hampton, who shared many cherished memories with her throughout the years.

Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Robert Shirley, Heather Phillips, Aaron James Mashburn, Kaitlyn Mashburn, and Chelsea McCullough.

She was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought great joy to her life: Natalie Shirley, Nathan Bratcher, Harper Anne Bratcher, Anchor McCullough, Raelynn McCullough, and Devon McCullough.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Skeeter, as well as Wayne Goff, Freeman Goff, Maise Hadden, Willie Joe Key, and her cherished granddaughter Jennifer N. Bratcher.

Though Bonnie has left this earthly world, the love she sewed into every quilt, the memories she created with her family, and the kindness she showed to others will remain forever. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of love, faith, and devotion, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who went before her, and resting in the presence of the Lord.
