Obituary for Aulton Charles Patterson Jr.
Mr. Aulton Charles Patterson Jr., age 80, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 19, 2019. Charles was born on December 6, 1938, in St Augustine, FL to the late Aulton Charles Patterson, Sr., and the late Mary Ellen McMillan Patterson. He and his family lived for many years in Conyers, GA where he ran a construction business. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Lake Oconee where he enjoyed golfing, boating, and activities with his Elks friends. Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years Martha Callaway Patterson of Eatonton; daughters Patricia (Joseph Shea), Linda (Stuart Smith), Kerry (Wayne Jenkins), and Sherry (Steve Stivarius); grandsons Charles and Daniel Shea; sister Mary Patterson Swords; nephew Ray Swords and niece Shelly Swords Shelnutt. He is preceded in death by his brother, Alfred Vernon “Red” Patterson. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 4 to 6 PM at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel, 105 Lower Harmony Road, Eatonton, GA. The service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel at 1 PM. Interment will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens in Snellville, GA following the service at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Affinis Hospice, 110 Stone Brook Drive, Gray, GA 31032. AffinisHospice.org.
