Obituary for Alice Drusilla Lewis
Drusilla Denham Lewis, known as “Nanny Girl” by her beloved grand and great grandkids, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2021. Drusilla was born in Milledgeville, Ga on March 13, 1950, to wonderful parents Harvey and Rosa Denham Sr. She had three mischievous but loving brothers Harvey, Jr, Glyn, and the late Jim Denham. Drusilla was the mother of Shannon Johnson, JoAnn Blythe, and Clayton Lewis. She raised her children with love and devotion in Eatonton, Ga with her husband and one true love, George “PeeWee” Clayton Lewis until his passing on August 5, 2005. As a lifelong resident of Eatonton, Drusilla was best known as a homemaker in the community. She was revered by many for her welcoming demeanor, her laugh that could light any room, and she always made sure that everyone had a seat at her table. Drusilla's love of traveling, camping, and cooking provided countless opportunities for family and friends to gather and enjoy her stories that were guaranteed to make everyone smile. She is survived by her children, Shannon (Paul) Johnson, JoAnn Blythe (Todd), Clayton (Lisa) Lewis, grandchildren, Jeffrey (Rachel) Lewis, Julia Lewis, Peyton Johnson, Trevor Lewis, Haiden Lewis, and great-grandchildren Charlie, Luke, and Lexie Lewis. Aside from the children and grands she adored, Drusilla is survived by her brothers, Harvey (Mary) Denham, Glyn Denham, sister-in-law Liz Denham and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Eatonton, GA on August 31, 2021, at 10 am.
