Obituary for Ada Turk
Ada Elizabeth Turk, age 94, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 8, 2011. Born on July 25, 1916, in Putnam County, Ada was the daughter of the late Earnest Lynwood and Georgia Walker Linch. She grew up in the Union Chapel community of Putnam County and attended Union School. She graduated from Eatonton High School in 1934. In 1936, she married the late J.D. Turk, Sr. and was blessed with five children. They lived most of their life in Putnam County. Ada devoted her life to her family, helping her husband run a dairy farm. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, reading, and most of all her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend. Ada was a life-long member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church. Her faith, friendship, and love were an inspiration to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Tony Turk and Dale Ward. She is survived by her children: Carol T Ward of Madison; Dallas Turk and wife, Sandra; Earnest Turk and wife, Dixie; Elaine T. Uhler and husband, Steve; all of Eatonton, Barbara Turk of Milledgeville; Grandchildren: Ray Ward and wife, Sandra; Alan Ward and wife Mikki; Rodney Turk; Brandy T. Huskins and husband, Chris; Rachel T Lewis and husband, Jeffrey; Marie and Maggie Uhler; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grand children. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to: Union Chapel United Methodist Church, C/O 119 Grimes Road, NE, Milledgeville, GA 31061. Services will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2011 @ 2 p.m. at Union Chapel United Methodist Church, with burial at Eatonton Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2011 @ 6-8 p.m. at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel.
