Obituary for Pete Bailes
Pete Bailes, 79 of Eatonton passed away at his residence on Friday, February 16, 2018. Pete was born on May 28, 1938 in Victor, West Virginia to the late Herbert Kavenaugh Bailes and Blanche Mae Eagle Bailes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Peg Skaggs, and three brothers Ernest, Roger and Ray Bailes. Pete retired from the Tropicana Products Company, and also was owner of Bailes Ranch.
Pete was a member of the Georgia Farm Bureau, The Cattleman’s Association, Polled Hereford Association, and enjoyed ranching.
The visitation will be on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel from 12 to 2 PM, followed by a service at 2 PM.
Burial will be at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens after the service.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Shirley Bailes, sons Emory Bailes II (Paula) of Vero Beach, Fl, Steve Wayne Bailes of Eatonton, daughter Lynn Hope Bailes of Colbert, GA, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sisters Evelyn Vargo (Ron) of Albany, GA, Vickie Bailes of Stone Mountain GA and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests that if family and friends prefer to make donations, they be made to Putnam County Animal Service.
