Obituary for James Russell Jones
James Russell Jones, 83, passed away on June 19, 2017, at Pruitt Health Care in Covington after a long battle with Parkinsons. He was born in Putnam County, Ga. On July 25, 1933 to the late James Thomas Jones and Loy Elise Fuller Jones. He was a lifetime member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church. He was a truck driver for Chambers Oil Co. for almost 40yrs. After retiring from Chambers Oil, he then drove for Embry Farms. He also served in the National Guard. Although his health steadily declined, his spirit, bright smile and faith remained constant. His greatest joy was spending time with his loving family. The visitation will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 10am to 11am, and the service will follow at 11am, the burial will be at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. Russell is survived by his loving sister, Nell McDonald and brother-in-law Allen, a wonderful niece, Sandra Kuzava and husband Ed. Two great nephews Eddie(Tracy) Kuzava and Erik(Ashley) Kuzava and two great great nieces, Boston and Abigail Kuzava. The family would like to thank the staff at Pruitt Health Care and Pruitt Health Care Hospice, especially Amy for their loving care. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions to Philadelphia United Methodist Church in c/o Doris Shupe 181 Old Phoenix Rd. N.E. Eatonton, Ga. 31024. Vining Ivy Hill Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
